An environmental assessment needs to be conducted to determine if the level of pollution in our waterways will absolutely destroy our ecosystem. The Sydenham River is home to many species that are at risk or protected, consistent pollution from this landfill’s surface runoff and its location being in a flood plane may cause irreparable damage. This is a threat to the river’s long term health and sustainability.
