Have these companies or even the ERO consulted with the local First Nation communities regarding this and the York1 proposal?
There is possible treaty violations that need to be considered especially if it effects our inherent aboriginal treaty rights.
It doesn’t sound like Walpole Island was consulted on any of these projects because they strongly oppose them.
Again this just seems like a violation of our treaty rights, inherent rights as Aboriginal people, and a slap in the face to the TRC calls to action.
Not only is at environmental risk, there would be huge decline in property value as how many people want to live near these waste sites? Has this not been seen near towns near current dump sites?
It there is no environmental risks, why don’t they put them in their own backyard and see how they like that.
