This amendment would be a bad idea.
The Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism has now had over 2 years to designate already listed buildings heritage. They have done very little in that time. I am not sure what an extension would do, other than to stall investments and new buildings. This amendment would undermine the intent of Bill 23. Many projects are waiting for January 1, 2025 to be initiated.
