A decision was made on July 11, 2024 to approve Official Plan Amendment 120 from the County of Wellington, as adopted pursuant to Sections 17 and 26 of the Planning Act by By-law 5808-23. Notice of this decision was issued on July 11, 2024 to the County of Wellington.
The adopted official plan amendment was reviewed for consistency with the Provincial Policy Statement 2020, conformity with A Place to Grow: Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, 2019, and the Greenbelt Plan, 2017, as well as compliance with the Planning Act. The adopted official plan amendment is consistent with and conforms to provincial land use policy direction and complies with the Planning Act.
Official Plan Amendment 120 implements the population and employment forecasts set out in Schedule 3 of A Place to Grow, as well as population and employment allocations to the County's area municipalities to the year 2051. The official plan amendment would also revise related text in the official plan.
Pursuant to subsections 17(36.5) and (38.1) of the Planning Act, this decision is final and not subject to appeal. Accordingly, Official Plan Amendment 120, as approved by the Minister, came into effect on July 12, 2024.
The official plan amendment applies to all lands within the County of Wellington.

Comments and requested changes received by the Ministry were reviewed in accordance with provincial land use planning policy and plans. Three modifications were made to expand the urban areas of Drayton and Moorefield in the Township of Wellington at the request of the Township of Mapleton and County of Wellington.

On February 23, 2023, the County of Wellington adopted Official Plan Amendment 120 by By-law 5808-23. The official plan amendment is now before the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing for a decision in accordance with Sections 17 and 26 of the Planning Act.
Official Plan Amendment 120 proposes to implement the population and employment forecasts set out in Schedule 3 of A Place to Grow: Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, as well as population and employment allocations to the County's area municipalities to the year 2051. The official plan amendment would also revise related text in the official plan.
If approved, the population and employment forecasts and allocations of Official Plan Amendment 120 would apply across the County.
