Mining Waste Water Management Inc. - Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage)

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (industrial sewage) for a mobile sewage works for the treatment of process water, stored water, surface water or groundwater impacted with acid water drainage from mining sites.

Each mobile unit is capable of treating surface water or ground water at a rate of 37,850 litres per minute (10,000 US gallons per minute; more than one of these systems may be used simultaneously on the same site) and is comprised of one reactor that consists of several mixing chambers which receives pulverized lime and contaminated water. The discharge from the mixing chamber would be settled in an on-site settling pond prior to decanting to the environment.

Treated effluent from the works would meet Metal and Diamond Mining Effluent Regulations Schedule 4, Table 2 Maximum Authorized Concentrations for Prescribed Deleterious Substances, and is to be disposed through discharge into a surface water body following sufficient settling.
