Détails de la décision

On November 19, 2025, application No. 60-C-244883 was approved with conditions. The application will permit the severance of approximately 2 hectares of vacant land from PIN 42180-1899 to be added as a lot addition to PIN 42180-1895. The severed land would be a triangle approximately 120.7 metres wide and approximately 203.18 metres deep.

The receiving lot will have an area of approximately 4.61 hectares, with no change to the 155 metres of lake frontage. The receiving lot has a cottage, shed and an outhouse. The proposed retained lot would have an area of 4.85 hectares, and no change to the lake frontage. The retained lot has a cottage built in 1991, garage, shed and an outhouse.

The effect of the lot addition is to adjust the property lines between two adjacent lots, making them more perpendicular to the lake and improving the functional use of available space.

The subject land is located approximately 16km northwest of the City of Kenora municipal boundary and is accessed by a private road off of Crown Land.

The application was reviewed for consistency with the environmental policies of the Provincial Planning Statement 2024 (e.g., natural heritage, water quality protection). No comments were received. The decision to approve the consent is consistent with the Provincial Planning Statement and will not have a significant impact on the environment.

The approval can be appealed by a specified person or public body, as defined in s.1(1) of the Planning Act, using the procedure outlined below. Notice to appeal the decision to the Ontario Land Tribunal must be filed with the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing on or before December 9, 2025.

The applicant has two (2) years to satisfy conditions, otherwise the approval will lapse.
