Sandusk Creek Properties Ltd. - Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage)

This proposal is to amend the existing Environmental Compliance Approval Number 0006-8VPPS3 to upgrade and expand an existing wastewater treatment plant and surface water discharge system, with a rated capacity of 70 cubic metres per day to 140 cubic metres per day, to service Phase 1 of the Shelter Cove Adult Lifestyle Community, comprising a total of 360 existing and future residential units.

The proposed upgraded wastewater treatment plant includes flow equalization, primary sedimentation, influent pump station, a moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR), phosphorus removal through chemical precipitation, sludge storage, tertiary filtration and ultra violet disinfection systems, with final effluent continuing to discharge to a roadside dry ditch tributary to Sandusk Creek. The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) will require monitoring of the treated wastewater effluent discharge leaving the site.
