This proposal is for the renewal of Limited Operational Flexibility for Environmental Compliance Approval (Air & Noise) No. 5217-A29QQG for Magna Closures Inc., operating as Dortec Industries. The facility assembles and manufactures power closure systems, latching systems and electronic control modules for the automotive industry in the Town of Newmarket, Ontario site. Processes include soldering, laser etching, greasing, and assembly. The facility operates on two shifts, seven days a week: six a.m. to ten p.m, Monday to Friday; and six a.m. to eight p.m, Friday to Sunday. Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:

• particulate matter
• metals such as silver and tin
• nitrogen oxides
• volatile organic compounds such as propanol and ethanol

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
