The application proposes a transfer and consolidation of approximately 24 hectares fronting Renabie Lake (PINs 73003-0001 and 73003-0012) from Jubilee Gold Exploration Ltd to the owners of the adjacent (benefiting) lot, Barrick Gold. The proposed lot addition into Barrick Gold’s ownership would allow for buttress work to provide additional support to the mine tailings storage facility located at a closed mining site. The benefitting lands are accessed by Renabie Road.

The proposed retained lot is approximately 37 hectares and is accessed by TMA access road. No construction or site alteration is proposed for the retained lot. Surrounding land uses are vacant private mining lands.

Appeal of a decision of the Minister in respect of this consent may be made by a specified person or any public body not later than 20 days after notice of the decision is given.  If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Minister in respect of the proposed consent, you must make a written request to the Minister at the contact address.

As required under the Planning Act, a public notice was published in the Sault Star on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
