GHBLAF Holdings Inc. - Changes to the site plan for a pit or quarry

An application has been made by GHBLAF Holdings Inc. to amend the current site plan to reduce the excavation setbacks in the north east corner of the licensed site.  The area in which the setbacks are proposed to be reduced will allow extraction at a location identified to be a woodland, significant wildlife habitat and habitat of an endangered species.   In support of the proposal, the licensee has provided a current assessment of the natural heritage features and proposed mitigation measures.  It is proposed that the setback along the licenced boundary be 15 metres, except where there is a common boundary agreement with adjacent ARA licence (#625910) in which case the setback is proposed to be eliminated (0 metres).

GHBLAF Holdings Inc. holds Licence #625697 under the Aggregate Resources Act.  In total 61.5 hectares are currently licenced as a pit above the water table.  The annual tonnage condition is 950,000 tonnes. Aggregate extraction has not yet taken place on the licensed site.

The proposal request for this licence has been circulated within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Aylmer District office. Additionally, notification of this application has been forwarded to the Township of South West Oxford, the County of Oxford, and the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks for comment.
