By eliminating the Toxics Reduction Act and allowing for development under Schedule 10 of Bill 66 that ignores important environmental measures, these proposals eliminate the regulations that are meant to protect the very people whom these government claims to be “for”. Lire davantage

Do not endanger regulations and laws protecting Ontario's natural areas, farmlands, drinking water and our protection from toxic chemicals. There is no business development that could possibly justify putting any of these systems at risk. Lire davantage

I am wholeheartedly in opposition to the passage of Schedule 5 in Bill 66. There were good reasons for the creation and passage of the Toxic Reduction Act. This Act, and its implementing regulations, which presently require large industries to develop plans to reduce the use Lire davantage

The need for ongoing monitoring of adherence to plans such as those discussed in this part of this legislation is precisely because of past lapses in compliance. Clearly penalties for non-compliance are insufficient to insure companies do what they say they will do. Lire davantage

I am deeply concerned that waterways, farmlands, and natural lands are threatened by development and environmental deregulation. This is not a constructive, healthy direction for our province. Lire davantage

This is a bad bill. It is bad for workers, it is terrible for the environment, and it is being pushed through without adequate transparency. Lire davantage

The reduction of toxins is obviously better for all of us. Many health issues arise from toxins, even death. Industries have not been held responsible. They need more restrictions not less.

I am writing to express my strong opposition to Schedule 5 of Bill 66. The position of this government that repealing the TRA eliminates unnecessary duplication of laws is untrue and unfounded. The TRA Does Not Duplicate CEPA; It Supplements It. Lire davantage

I am writing to express my dismay about the recklessness of Bill 66. The regulations that it is proposing to repeal are essential to protecting the health and well being of the citizens of Ontario. Lire davantage

I am a father of 3 children in Hamilton, ON and strongly object to this proposal. I object because the proposal is irresponsible, and because it does nothing to project our natural environment for their future. Lire davantage

Bill 66, Restoring Ontario's Competitiveness Act, 2018 is aimed at increasing employment by cutting red tape - eliminating redundant regulations. This bill will needlessly bypass or eliminate critical regulations and put public health and safety at risk. Lire davantage

I oppose the proposed changes because the existing legislation has an essential role in ensuring the monitoring, regulation and reporting on the sources of toxins and pollutants that pose a significant risk to human and environmental health in Ontario. We can only manage what we know. Lire davantage

This is not a well thought plan.... So not only will Ontario be open for business, it will be open for more health problems related to reducing and eliminating regulations on the use of toxins. The word 'toxin' itself should be a warning. If something is toxic, it is not good for us. Lire davantage
