I am not in support of any legislation that allows key environmental legislation to be bypassed in favour of development. It is short sighted and potentially places at risk our drinking water and natural public spaces. Lire davantage

I have reviewed the proposed changes carefully. In general, I support streamlined bureaucracy - I work in municipal government and have first hand knowledge of the competitive edge that communities gain when they are able to respond quickly and effectively to development opportunities. Bill 66 proposes to take away the democratic right of citizens to know what is happening in their own backyard, provide input and, if necessary, oppose poor planning. Transparency is a key and fundamental issue, and it's missing from Bill 66. Lire davantage

Regarding, ERO-013-4293 Bill 66, Restoring Ontario's Competitiveness Act 2018 We need to stop or at least amend Bill 66 in its current form. Transparency is a fundamental right of democracy and this Bill, if passed would remove that. Lire davantage

We feel it is absolutely essential that Bill 66 be revised. The proposed amendment to the Planning Act takes away the democratic right of citizens to know what is happening in their own backyard, provide input and if needed oppose the development. Lire davantage

I am very disturbed by Bill 66 as currently proposed. During the election the stated Conservative platform was to "protect the Greenbelt in its entirety". There is no room for this legislation in that statement. Lire davantage

Why gut environmental regulations for short term gain? Protecting ground water, farmland and clean air is more important than sprawl and a quick buck isn't it? Lire davantage

I am strongly opposed to the idea of permitting Municipalities to fast track development of businesses and avoid process that involve public consultation and assessments such as Environmental assessments. Good decision making and consultation takes time. Lire davantage

This needs to be widely publicized before a decision is taken...especially in the Ottawa area. Why aren't you doing this?

I am NOT in favour of some aspects of Bill 66. The Green Belt is an area that has to be protected at all costs. NO development should take place on the Green Belt, and it should even be expanded. As well, any changes to our water protection should be to enhance , not to detract. Lire davantage

I believe that Bill 66 is a bad idea that has the potential to undermine many of the strong provincial Acts that have done much to achieve a balance between development and environmental protection. Lire davantage

I think that the Bill 66 Open-for-Business regulation is the wrong approach to attracting business in Ontario. You should not be removing environmental protections to attract business. The fact that this regulation will override many of our environmental acts is very disappointing. Lire davantage
