I am 100% pro hunting. But this is absurd, unsafe, and will only cause potential injury to bears and humans alike by means of traffic accidents, and stray fire. If anything it should be increased. If you can't travel 200m from your car or ATV to get to your unsportsmanlike bait, STAY AT HOME. Lire davantage

I strongly object to reducing the distance for baiting. This will increase danger to wildlife, motorists, and hunters alike. Please do not approve this change.

"the 200 metre bait placement restrictions from recreational trails and rights of way is overly restrictive and unclear" MAKE it CLEAR - Make it FURTHER away. Lire davantage

I object. There are many people who do not want to see the bear harmed. The hunting and recreational uses take place in the bears natural home. I am concerned as to the proposed changes and do not agree with them. We need to protect our animals and all Lire davantage

I object, the wilderness of Ontario is used by many who prefer not to cause damage. The bears are not dangerous, hiking, and recreating near where bear hunting happens is dangerous. Ontario better not allow this change to take place.

Do not change the distance from 200 to 30. It is dangerous to have high powered guns that close to public trails. If a hunter can’t walk in 200 m to set bait then he shouldn’t be hunting. I object to this plan completely.

I will refrain from providing too many comments on the of baiting bears but will say I do not consider it hunting. Lire davantage

NO. No reduction. Better still, no baiting what-so-ever. The whole idea is unacceptable. It's not hunting, it's lazy, inhumane, unethical. Just plain no.

I live in black bear country and am supportive of hunting but I disagree that this change should be made. Decreasing the limit will increase traffic accidents with wildlife and possible firearms-related incidents with people hunting closer to roads. Lire davantage

More Canadians than ever are against blood sports. Binoculars and cameras are replacing guns all over the world. Lire davantage

I REALLY object to this. You call that hunting???? First they are on motorized vehicles, then they don't even want to walk a few more yards. That's not hunting.

I object with the changes to the set back regulations. The wilderness of Ontario is used by many who prefer not to cause damage, myself included. The bears are not dangerous, I live in a rural area and have never had a bad or dangerous encounter with bears (or wildlife in general). Lire davantage

I support OMNR change to reduce the minimum distance for bait placement from a Right of way for public vehicular traffic and marked recreational trails from 200 meters to 30 meters. This change will make the sport safer and provide additional hunting opportunities to the handicap and aging hunters. Lire davantage

Baiting and trapping kill more than wildlife; any who resort to these methods is not human....humanity has been lost.
