I think the decision to limit the bear hunting season on the Bruce Peninsula is a mistake. The number of bears that were sighted on my trail cameras and others that I talked to last fall indicates more bears than the previous years.

As a resident of Ontario and a citizen of Canada I deeply oppose the hunting of innocent animals. Furthermore, I strongly oppose any concept of making a spring hunt permanent. These hunts, if they are to take place, need to be reviewed regularly and based on our best science.

Do not reinstate the spring bear hunt. In fact, why not ban it PERMANENTLY. They hunt with bait. This is not really even hunting, and it encourages scavenging behavior. They kill nursing mothers. The orphans die. Lire davantage
