In your role as public servants, I ask you to respect and support the Waterloo Regional Official Plan. It involved many months of hard work. It is the plan we want. It protects our groundwater upon which we are 100% dependent. It preserves the most productive farmland in the country.
Premier Ford, please build up not out. Waterloo Region is doing so and hitting the recommended goals. We need housing but we need it in urban areas where people work and go to school. That is more environmentally sustainable than building in far away green belts.
To The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing:
I fully support the ROPA 6.
It is a well thought out amendment with a focus on:
1. Intensification.
2. 15 minute neighbourhoods.
3. Protection of Waterloo Region's farmlands which is critical for ours and future generations food

We write in support of the updated Regional Official Plan for Waterloo Region that has been submitted for approval. It is the result of 2 years' community consultation, and was unanimously endorsed by all the cities and townships in our Region in August.

The Waterloo Region Official Plan Amendment 6 does not Conform with the Growth Plan, as it does not provide sufficient lands for new settlement area (community area) to provide housing.
