The university avenue, Yonge Street and bloor Street bike lanes have transformed the city and made it safe and pleasant for me to bike to many areas which were hard to get to before: high park, my job in the financial district, the ago. They also don't have good substitutes, especially University and Yonge. For the most part these lanes have come out of street parking and not lanes of traffic. It would be madness to go back to how we were before. It will make biking more dangerous and encourage people to drive more because of a lack of options.
