I would like to make a comment in a positive way to say I am glad to hear that the MNR is looking in the way allocation tag is presently done and for a better future. My comment derived from a Personnal living experience here in the Northern Ontario Cochrane Distric. I have been trying to get a adult moose tag me and my family for the last 22 years living in the wildlife unit 3o we’re my home living is but had to apply in other unit in order to be successful. This hunting season I find out that my next door neighbourg that lives down south which he comes hunting for a week which he says and not true is only hunting birds because he got draw again because he didn’t print”buy”his tag last year so was allocated another tag this year in the second draw again and so his partner got a adult tag also in the second draw and didn’t buy “print” is tag and waiting to see the moose a make a kill before printing their tag . This is telling me that next year these two hunters will get again each à tag in the second draw if that’s what they have been getting away with. They should loose their points automatically for 2025 draw year for not buying out and printing their 2024 allocated tag. All the 2023 allocated tags for unit 30 that were not claim should go to a northern residential draw per district to properly share our wildlife values and protection of our resources
Thank you for taking time to read
