The Bill212 Reducing Gridlock Act seems under developed, not fact based, and encroaches on the power of the municipalities to make their own decisions about their own transportation needs. Experts in the field of sustainable transportation and traffic, in Canada and around the world agree that bike lanes reduce gridlock. They add downtown business revenue, increase a healthier lifestyle, reduce noise, pollution, as well as congestion in cities. Why would the On government take a different stance? This act is not in the best interest of Ontarians. It doesn't take the climate crisis into account. Public transportation and reducing car centric modality in cities in Ontario are helpful towards a healthier population, and a healthier future.
