I see no reason this needs to exist.
I am unable to see how this would benefit Ontario Residents positively in any meaningful way. The stated reasoning for this proposal is exaggerated and defies common sense, and the reality of municipal infrastructure.
Let Municipalities deal with municipal issues, that is why they exist in the first place.
The province has already deemed itself as incapable of properly addressing municipal issues and this proposal directly supports that inability to properly govern.
It's seems beyond idiotic to impede the development of this critical infrastructure, during a time of increasing usage of that infrastructure. The benefits to alternative forms of transportation are blatantly obvious, and this proposal can only be seen for what it really is; a direct attack on logic, reasoning, and reality.
Link attached for a good example of successful "bike lane" infrastructure plan.
