This proposal ignores years of research pointing to the fact that the more roads we have the more vehicular traffic we have. The answer is better public transportation and active transportation. Removing bike lanes increases GHG emissions and contributes to poorer health and higher health costs. Ontario is moving backwards when we greatly need embrace actions to reduce private vehicular use.
