As a Toronto resident (and driver), I strongly oppose Bill 212 and I am particularly outraged by the proposal to remove existing bike lanes from Bloor Street, Yonge Street, and University Avenue. The provincial government must stop interfering in municipal matters and allow the people of Toronto to determine the direction of our own city. The bike lanes benefit us all by keeping everyone safe and moving. Forcing the people of Toronto to endure even more construction to remove existing bike infrastructure and requiring a regressive, car-first streetscape is inexcusable foolishness.
