I am writing this comment on November 5th and it is 22 degrees Celsius outside. There have been natural disasters in the form of hurricanes and wildfires in the last few months that have wreaked havoc in North America. How are we still prioritizing the convenience of travel by car in this current climate crisis? Bikes have been an easy way for people to reduce their fossil fuel emissions while also being active and being able to easily navigate busy downtown areas without getting stuck in vehicular traffic. And instead of trying to improve bike lanes and thus improve the safety of cyclists and pedestrians, it seems the Ford government is meddling in municipal affairs to actively reduce the safety of non-car travel.
