Please reconsider the removal of bike lanes on Bloor and University. I’m currently 5 months pregnant and I use these bike lanes to get to and from Mt Sinai where my OB is. I could drive, I own two cars!, but I’d rather bike. If the bike lanes are removed i won’t feel safe biking any more and will end up driving.
I also bike on Danforth weekly. I get groceries from foodland, then often visit treasure island, moss or QI just for fun. If the bike lanes are removed I will end up driving farther to a grocery store with a parking lot and I’ll rarely visit these local gems.
These bike lanes save lives and help connect me to my community. I’ve chatted to strangers while biking, but have never had a pleasant conversation with a stranger in another car. Biking makes people happy and healthy and more people should bike, not less.
