I am deeply disappointed by the current proposal from the Ontario Government which, if tabled, will put all of us, drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, in more unnecessary confrontation and physical danger.
The proposal disrespects years of environmental effort, expert consultation and democratic processes by the municipalities, in effect wasting millions of tax payer money already spent on the development of critical infrastructure.
While cities across the world embrace forward-looking solutions for tackling congestion, a fast-growing population, and a general cost of living crisis, Bill 212 represents a step back for Ontario, locking us in a legacy view on transportation and urban design.
Our Government can do better than Bill 212.
