Removal of these key bike lanes would disconnect the already meagre bike lane network that the City of Toronto offers to its tax-paying residents. Previous incidents of removing bike lanes to improve gridlock have proven to not aid in congestion. In fact, increasing available bike lanes across the city would allow for citizens to feel safer biking, reducing the amount of people who would otherwise drive their car and increasing bike usership.
