Removing bike lanes will not reduce gridlock. Check the stats of the bloor bike lane counter from Toronto Community Bikeways Coalition. There have been a 40% increase in bike lanes traffic from August 2023 to May 2024. (TCBC, 2024 May)

It’s only logical that if you have effective, working infrastructure, you will ultimately get more users and traffic. More bike lanes, more bikers; more car lanes, more cars. How will having more cars yield to reduced gridlock? It does not make any logical sense.
