Bypassing municipal authority to remove bike lanes is inexcusably horrible. This should never be allowed. Data clearly shows that removing the bike lanes would not improve traffic, and would instead result in increased injury and death for cyclists. As an avid cycler in Toronto, this is a direct attack on my livelihood and everyone else who ever bikes. That our government would waste millions in tax dollars to make our roads LESS safe, while not improving traffic, is completely unacceptable.
