As a business owner located not far from the route these dump trucks will travel, I’m deeply concerned about what this landfill proposal means for our safety, our roads, and the well-being of our community. My staff, customers, and delivery drivers use these roads every day. Bringing in waste daily means a massive increase in heavy truck traffic...on roads not built to handle that kind of load. This isn't just bad for business...it’s dangerous. I worry about accidents, delays, and the long-term wear and tear on infrastructure that local taxpayers, not Toronto, will end up footing the bill for. I chose this location to build something stable and community-focused, but this project puts that at risk. Before this goes any further, we need a full environmental assessment to understand the true impact....not just in Chatham, but all along the route. Our safety and livelihoods depend on it.
