This proposal is WRONG…

This proposal is WRONG. Everybody knows it. To remove the EA and have this company plan this landfill is ABSOLUTELY insane. This company says it is a recycling landfill but it is not. It will be a full dump. Garbage, garbage, and more garbage. All from the GTA. Chatham-Kent already has one landfill. We do not need another. Especially one that sits right on the border of our historic town. 800 meters from a high school and 1 kilometer for a public school. Do people lives and health not matter to this shameless company. I guess not. Money is more important to them then people. They don't live in this area so they don't care. The citizens of this town and the surrounding areas are hard working, caring people. Why are we being treated like we are just dumb country folks and our lives mean absolutely nothing to them.

There are many, many concerns with this proposed landfill.

Molly's Creek and the Sydenham River. There are so many endangered species that live there. This landfill will kill everything. Not only the wildlife but all the vegetation. It is also a flood zone. It floods during the spring and every time we have heavy rains, which is a lot, because of our changing environment. Because of the flooding all the pollutants that this landfill will create will spread even further.

Our wells. I can remember when this company had an info night a year ago we were told that our wells would not be affected because they were not digging down far enough to disturb the aquifer. They were only digging to 40ft. BUT they are wrong. I have 3 wells on my farm and NOT one of them is below 30ft. I have 2 at 28 ft and one at 30ft and I have the papers to prove it from when these wells were drilled many years ago. So my well and many, many others are all going to be affected and we will no longer have safe water for drinking or doing everyday things that require the use of water. Laundry, bathing, cooking, brushing teeth, etc. etc. etc. I also have livestock on my farm and pets. If I can't drink my water do you expect me to let my livestock and pets to drink it.

Our farms. Our properties. Our homes. Are going to be worthless. Who is going to want to buy our property/home when there is a dump right on the town border. NOBODY. So we will be forced to sell at a very reduced rate and loose thousands of dollars, IF someone wants to buy our homes which is very unlikely. NOBODY wants to live next to a dump.

Our health is at great risk also. There will be a lot of pollution. All the hazardous materials like asbestos that will be brought to this landfill will become air borne. We, the people of this town are going to be having many health issues. We will be breathing this unsafe air. We will be hearing all the noise from this operations. The diesel trucks that will be travelling through our town on a daily basis, EVERDAY. The diesel powered machinery this company will be using. Our roads cannot handle that amount of trucks on a daily basis. WE are a farming community. What are all those trucks going to do when there is always farm machinery on these roads. And yes those tractors are slow moving especially during planting and harvesting. Plus all the school buses that are on these roads. I have read many reviews of how bad this company drivers are, tailgating, horn honking, erratic driving. What is going to happen when an accident happens. AND it will happen because of these drivers.

We have a food processing plant that has been in this town for over 75 years. With all the dangerous air pollution it has been said they they will close. Health Canada has huge regulations when it comes to food processing. This processing plant has been the backbone of Dresden for decades proving many jobs for our area residents. If it closes, it will be massive job loss. So this small historic town of Dresden will be a ghost town. All because of this ungrateful business.

All you hear nowadays is save the environment. Protect the environment. Use renewable energy. Save the planet. Save our endangered species. But it seems that this business, doesn't care about any of that. With their plan for this landfill and now asking to remove the EA just proves that. Along with the premier of Ontario. He has openly lied to the people of Ontario. He or this business does not give a damn about the environment. QUIT lying to us. Do what is right and stop this landfill from happening and if not then a proper EA needs to be done. The premier says it is about tariffs. That is nothing but hogwash. It has nothing to do with tariffs. It has everything to do with money and who can fatten those pockets the best. I have no doubt that is business is fattening the premier's pocket just to get what they want and not what the people want.

There is a lot of hard working families in this town. Raising their families and trying to give what they can for their kids. There are a lot of seniors that have settle in this small quiet town for retirement. There are many generations of families that live here. Farms passed down form generation to generation. Their farmland is at risk including mine. Crops WILL be producing lower yields because of the soil being contaminated for all the pollution. Why destroy prime farmland and it is easily preventable. I am sure there are many other areas that this landfill could be put away from civilization where it will cause no harm to the environment or to people health and welfare.

SAVE THE PLANET. SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT. SAVE OUR AIR. DO WHAT IS RIGHT. A FULL EA IS A MUST AND HAS TO BE DONE. IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO DO THE FULL EA THEN THE PREMIER AND THIS BUSINESS ARE THE BIGGEST LYING HYPOCTITES. THEY ARE THE ONES DESTROYING THIS PLANET JUST SO THAT POCKETS CAN GET FATTER ON BOTH SIDES. WHY IS THE PREMIER DOING THIS. HE HAS LOST ALL FAITH FORM THE PEOPLE OF ONTARIO, EXCEPT FOR HIS WEALTHY FRIENDS AND BUSINESSES. BUT I GUESS IN HIS EYES THAT IS ALL WHO MATTERS. SCREW THE AVERAGE PERSON OR THE LOW INCOME. THEY MEAN NOTHING TO HIM. AND IN THIS AREA IT IS JUST YOUR AVERAGE WORKING CLASS FAMILIES TRYING TO MAKE ENDS MEET AND HE IS NOW DETROYING US. THE PREMIER SAYS IS FOR THE PEOPLE OF ONTARIO. WHAT HE REALLY MEANS IT THAT HE IS FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE GTA AND ONLY THOSE PEOPLE. EVERYBODY ELSE IS NOTHING. JUST DIRT THAT HE CAN WALK ON.
