Amendments to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act should not go forward. Setting areas aside for conservation purposes should be considered permanent if nature protection is to make any sense. We can’t just keep taking away areas of conservation and expect ecosystems to thrive. What is needed is expanded protection so that natural areas can support clean water, clean air, flood mitigation and other services we all benefit from.
