Please do not give any land currently designated as a Provincial Park to the Town of Wasaga Beach.
This land was expropriated in 1959 to create public space so the ordinary people who cannot afford waterfront property could access the longest freshwater beach in the world.
How awesome is it to be able to have forested areas for picnicing and a break from the sun on the beach proper!
If the town gets its hands on it, it is absolutely slated to be sold to the highest bidder. Huge homes on tiny lots blocking even a view of the water.
At a town meeting the Mayor as much as said it would happen.
Many areas are already struggling with access to the waterfront. Collingwood, Craigleith, Thornbury And Meaford all have stretches of private waterfront. Many private owners simply block access without the legal right to do so.
Once it’s gone it’s gone for good! Please don’t allow this to happen!
