I oppose ERO 025-0694. Removing Nancy Island and large sections of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park from PPCRA protection is irreversible and will weaken environmental safeguards. These areas protect fragile dunes, wildlife habitat, and species-at-risk like the Piping Plover.
Tourism growth can happen without dismantling a provincial park. Selling off public parkland for development sets a dangerous precedent and risks replacing sustainable, year-round nature-based tourism with short-term, high-impact uses.
Keep all current park lands under PPCRA. Enhance tourism and heritage programming within the existing park framework instead of removing protections that future generations will never get back.
