I strongly oppose ERO 025-0694. Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is a rare and fragile natural space that should remain fully protected under the PPCRA. Removing beach areas and Nancy Island from park status will open the door to development that could permanently damage sensitive dunes, wildlife habitat, and the shoreline.
Once public parkland is sold or reclassified, it’s gone forever. Tourism can be strengthened through better facilities, events, and heritage programming without taking land out of the park system. The long-term value of a healthy, protected park far outweighs short-term development gains.
Please keep all of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park intact and protected for the future.
