I am writing to you about my concerns for bill 60's stipulations targeting new bike lanes. Bike lanes represent choice and freedom - I am both a driver and a cyclist and use both types of transportation interchangeably.
Bike lanes are much cheaper to maintain than highways. Bike lanes on commercial streets contribute to the local economy, and are more attractive to foot traffic.
Obviously not everyone will use a bike lane, however this is also true of drivers. I'm hoping for political representation that protects all interests, and am not in favour of using cycling as a wedge issue.
