I am writing to express my opposition to the Ford government’s continued attack on environmental protections in Ontario. Conservation authorities are stretched too thin as it is, and Ford’s plan to “consolidate “ 36 local conservation authorities into 7 will cripple their ability to meaningfully protect our environment and the safety of our drinking water. The work of conservation authorities has only become MORE essential in the face of climate change and the extinction crisis. Ford’s plan will only make it easier for him to sell our public lands and fresh water to his cronies at the public’s expense.
