Although streamlining the conservation authorities to save $ and speed up deliberations and decisions is basically a good idea combining regions that have significantly different geology, geography and natural habitats eg. Lake Simcoe and Nottawasaga is not wise. Further, no matter how the authorities are reconfigured, the Minister of Environment should not be able to override the local authorities’ decisions. This would make the decisions far too vulnerable to influence peddling, cronyism, and outright corruption. Thank you.
