Concerned citizen here,
Cutting back for "Efficiencies" to Conservation Authorities doesnt really exist without major risk. The splits of regions makes absolute sense because you can achieve greater sense of the region you're in by having lived there or experienced it in a lifetime. It's efficient by design and allows for more accurate information by people who grew up in the area. Sure anyone can move too, or live outside of the area, but it helps keep organizations small and tight knit.
Trying to cut back on the specialists that know and study this stuff on a daily basis makes no sense. I'd rather my taxes split across several specialized sanctions vs some single small board relying on mountains of information where they can't decide what's important coming from people they may or may not know are qualified for the job.
Ontario has people employed and working towards the greener future I believe in. If developers aren't willing to cooperate then they shouldn't resort to bribery. Development might be needed but it will all crumble down if important steps towards conservation aren't taken.
Stop trying to become DOGE and start listening to people who actually know what they're talking about.
Thank you.
