I see the proposed consolidation of conservation authorities as yet another attack by the Ford government on the environment and the scientists who work to protect it. It is clearly designed to undermine local voices/knowledge and community control over their important watersheds and wetlands. It is a blatant power grab to make it easier for Ford's developer friends/donors to develop on sensitive lands that should not be developed for commercial, industrial and agricultural use (at least not the way pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers are permitted on Ontario farms). It is the Greenbelt scandal 2.0. Shame on you all.
