This is a poorly thought out plan that will limit the efficacy of conservation authorities when it comes to reaching the people living in these watersheds and providing useful local information. When the majority of the 36 conservation authorities reported drought or near drought conditions over the summer, it is absolutely idiotic to merge all of these various authorities.

Conservation authorities need resources to give Ontarians accurate and up to date information and unless consolidating comes with a funding increase (it won't) this is regressive, stupid decision clearly meant to make these authorities less effective so that your government can justify continuing to erode their authority to make development decisions that will affect Ontarian's access to water and recreation.
