It is not suitable for the government to consolidate the conservation authority for the watershed area in the real Northern Ontario with that of an area 1,000 miles away, and having no contiguous waterway. What is suitable for cottage country on Lake Huron is not suitable or manageable in the more Northern areas. And instead of being able to interact with real people, we in the North would end up spending our time on hold, with a voice saying “your call is very important to us”. Yes, the conservation areas are fragmented, yes sometimes the rules are different or require more analysis or time to implement, but that is a direct result of the varied terrain and needs of those areas. Don’t mess with something that doesn’t need repair!!
