I am writing to strongly oppose the proposal to consolidate Ontario’s 36 Conservation Authorities into 7 regional bodies (ERO 025-1257). This move will erode the local expertise essential for effective flood management and environmental protection. Managing watersheds requires intimate local knowledge, not a centralized, 'one-size-fits-all' bureaucracy. I urge the government to withdraw this proposal and maintain the current structure that ensures local accountability and safety.
