I have owned a farm for approx. 22 years that has been extensively Naturalized with a 6 pond Wetland and approx. 8 acres of mature Tall Grass that has been studied and copied by other land owners.
From my personal experience, I completely agree that a "Standardized procedural operations" policy is definitely needed for Conservation Authorities in order to eliminate questionable personal interpretations by individuals of the requirements for program funding and their provision.
This discrepancy in decision making from one Conservation Authority to another is problematic and frustrating to landowners!
I DO NOT HOWEVER support the amalgamation proposal!
From my many years of experience being involved in multiple initiatives
(Tree Planting, Water Festival, Site Tours, Special Information Sessions etc.) by our local Authority (Not where my Farm is located) I can assure decision makers that any consolidation is a HUGE ERROR in judgement!
This seems more like a decision typically now made in "The Oval Office"!
