DO NOT CONSOLIDATE ONTARIO'S CONSERVATION AUTHORITIES.
RESTORE - AND INCREASE!! - THEIR FUNDING INSTEAD.

The Doug Ford Government has continuously eroded, undermined, weakened and disrespected Ontario's Conservation Authorities and the great work they do. The "problems" identified as the driving force for the consolidation have been CREATED by the Doug Ford Government! If you truly want to improve service levels & consistency then you should un-do the damage you've been doing all along.

Restore funding. Allow for more staff to be hired & trained. Enable and encourage staff from various CA's to co-ordinate with each other in establishing appropriate Service Levels, then monitor and report on performance. If more staff are needed to meet Service Levels - FUND MORE STAFF.

Restore the power and authority that CA's once had. Enable and encourage staff from various CA's to meet, consult, and communicate with each other as well as the various Ministries and other experts so that they can all understand, interpret, and enforce legislation and regulations consistently.

Despite what you might think, Ontario's CA's are not bloated, inefficient organisations full of pudgy Managers in expensive business suits who do useless busywork all day. They are lean, flat organisations and the CA community & culture is unlike anything you will find in the corporate world. That's a very good thing, and something all of Ontario should take great pride in.

Ontario and her citizens need each and every one of our precious Conservation Authorities to protect us, our communities and infrastructure, our environment and our FUTURE from the damage posed by profit-driven short-sighted corporations - and governments.

Do NOT consolidate our Conservation Authorities. Instead, fund them. Encourage them. Support them. RESPECT THEM.
