Getting rid of the existing 36 locally managed Conservation Authorities in favour of a large Agency overseeing just 7 regions across the province is a bad idea. Conservation Authorities have been around for almost 80 years, allowing local management of local watersheds. It is an excellent model. They help ensure that new development does not occur in floodplain areas and provide so much more to their local communities.
