As a resident of Northwestern Ontario, and a frequent user of conservation areas that are managed by the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA), I do not support the merger to create the Huron-Superior Regional Conservation Authority.
The LRCA has unique positioning in the northwest, and merging them with another region that is not even remotely close to here, is problematic.
Whoever made this proposal should look at a map and realize the northwest is vastly different than the rest of Ontario, and thus needs its own representation.
I support LRCA’s recommendation that the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority form
a stand-alone regional conservation authority as the “Northwestern Ontario Regional Conservation
Authority”.
Thank you.
