I have lived in Oakville for over 60 years and it has changed significantly in the past 5 years through exponential growth. While this was to be expected the beauty and small-town aspect which is the reason people want to live here is being ruined by the massive towers that are being forced on our town. Townhomes are welcome but we do not want to replicate a city with tall towers. That’s not what Oakville wants to be. We favour a close knit community that is safe for growing families
It already takes 30 minutes to drive to places that took a third of the time before the growth spurt. If these towers are allowed to be built by the Go Station it will devastate the area and cause unnecessary harm to local residents in travel time and to the environment. These towers don’t provide homes for families but are more for investors which have essentially disappeared in 2025. So the question is who is benefitting from this plan. It’s certainly not the current residents.
