Our local conservation authorities are extremely important and amalgamation is a terrible idea. Ontario has very diverse water sheds and each needs to be conserved uniquely. Amalgamations forced by the province have never worked to benefit the people of Ontario (schools are now too big and overpopulated, small municipalities are struggling with more infrastructure over a larger area, etc) and this proposal will cause more problems than savings.
