I need to address my concern about consolidating conservation authorities. I did my high school coop at a conservation authority and the amount of knowledge I acquired was astounding. I have fished and hunted local lands my whole life with generations of family and friends and I learned so much more about the land and how much the conservation specialists do during my time in coop. I was not expecting to get one on one weather lessons, flood prevention, sustainable logging practices, animal protection, working in the community. I could go on and on about the things I learned during the short time I was there. We can not be loose with the respect we give to these keepers of science and understanding of the natural landscape. We risk too much. Worldwide we are seeing money win over nature! We need to conserve and we need these experts to help to do that!
