The Conservation Authorities are way outside their mandates. They have been acting like enviromental activist rather than the legal authourity they are supposed to be. Explain how policies they use to protect fish and turtles is part of their mandate when those policies elimanate other species like groundhogs and jack rabbits that are becoming exinct? They delay and cost everyone who has to deal with them 10's of thousands of dollars to satisfy their rediculous demands for permits.

Simply ask any person outside the Conservation Authorities who has to deal with them about the process. Ask an Engineer, Lawyer, Builder, CBO or even the Democratically elected councils. All say the same thing. Conservation Authorities are out of control.

Their mandate is to protect lives and property in the watersheds yet they do nothing to ensure all the waterways are moving water at 100 percent capacity at all times. They never allow improvements in the waterways yet the demand on those waterways is ever increasing due to modern agricultural practices and new subdivisions. What they are very good at is increasing their control over more land by making up floodplains and striping property owners of their rights and freedoms.

Not sure how we got to a non elected Authority dictating policy to our democraticlly elected councils. Who is running things. Bureacracy is IMO.
