Has anyone done the math? The highest density in the world exists in Macau, China and is 200 people per hectare. The 56-storey high rises they are proposing for Oakville works out to 2500 people per hectare…….over 10 times any other existing area! How on earth are all these people going to access transportation, water consumption and wastewater disposal, not to mention garbage management and access to education. It is really unbelievable that this is being proposed when there are much better alternatives that the city is planning. Most people I know hate tall high rises. They are expensive and a hazard, especially in the event of fire, hydro outage = elevators not working. It is a recipe for complete disaster. PLEASE RECONSIDER!!
